Garage Bits was built around a simple belief: the things we own should be repairable and kept in use for as long as possible.
I’m a passionate JDM enthusiast, I work on my own vehicles, and I know the small and big problems that can come with maintaining and repairing cars. That’s where the idea behind Garage Bits came from: creating and offering products that solve real problems – especially problems I’ve experienced myself.
What started as Garage Bits therefore wasn’t the idea of simply opening another online shop. It started with a simple question:
Why doesn’t this already exist in a proper form?
Born from real experience
A great example is our Garage Bits Universal Service Book.
I was looking for a service book that was well designed, provided enough space for documenting maintenance and repairs, and could be used with different vehicles and brands. What I found on the market didn’t convince me – either in terms of content, quality, or both.
So I decided to create my own.
The result is a service book that isn’t just designed to look good, but above all to do its job: keeping maintenance, repairs and a vehicle’s history organized and documented for years to come.
Because especially with older vehicles, a well-documented history can be incredibly valuable.
Repair instead of replace
One thing that matters particularly to us is the right to repair.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to maintain, repair and keep using the things they own for as long as possible.
Something that used to be taken for granted is increasingly becoming a privilege. Vehicles and other technical products are becoming more complex, replacement parts can be difficult to find, and repairs are often becoming more complicated or deliberately restricted.
We want to do our small part to push back against that.
Repairing something instead of throwing it away and replacing it doesn’t just save money. It also means making better use of the resources that already exist.
Keeping the things we already have in use for as long as possible is another way of doing something good for our environment.
Giving used parts a second chance
That’s why, alongside our own products, you’ll also find selected used vehicle parts from our own stock at Garage Bits.
The goal isn’t simply to resell old parts.
Where practical, we inspect parts and, when technically and economically reasonable, repair or refurbish them. Other parts are deliberately offered at an affordable price in their existing condition.
We aim to describe the condition of every used part as honestly and clearly as possible. Because when it comes to used parts, we believe you should know exactly what you’re buying.
Maybe the part you’re looking for is no longer available new. Maybe you want to keep a vehicle on the road that you don’t see every day anymore. Or maybe repairing something is simply the better alternative to buying new.
From enthusiasts, for enthusiasts
Garage Bits isn’t a large corporation – and it isn’t meant to be one.
Behind the shop is a car enthusiast who enjoys working on cars, is passionate about technology, and, just like many of our customers, would rather try to repair something than replace it without a second thought.
Our goal is simple:
We want to offer products that we would be happy to use ourselves.
And if we can solve a problem that we’ve experienced ourselves along the way, even better.
That’s what Garage Bits was built on.
